Cosmetic False Teeth

Cosmetic false teeth are commonly known as dentures, bridges, crowns and implants. They can be worn by the elderly as well as the youth. People have many reasons for wearing cosmetic false teeth. Some wear them because they have to while others wear them simply because they feel it will help them be able to regain some of their self confidence again.

What are dentures?

Dentures are removable teeth that people were to hide the fact that they are missing teeth. At one point in time they were only worn by elders however as time has went on younger people who are missing teeth have started wearing them as well. Currently, there are two main types of dentures that can be purchased. The first type is complete dentures and the second type is partial dentures. Some forms of dentures require for all of the teeth to be extracted while others don’t require the “good teeth” to be extracted.

What are bridges?

A dental bridge is a form of cosmetic false teeth. People who have missing teeth tend to be the ones who wear a dental bridge. Dental bridges can range anywhere from $250 to $550 depending on which state you live in. Then the attachment wing that is needed can range from $600 to $1200.

There are two types of dental bridges. The first type is a fixed bridge. A fixed bridge is a tooth that cannot be removed from your mouth it is fused between two porcelain crowns. The second type is a cantilever bridge. A cantilever bridge is used when there are only teeth on one side of the area where the tooth is missing. However, no matter which type of dental bridge you get you have to be sure that you maintain your dental hygiene if you have not been in the past.

What are crowns?

Crowns are another form of cosmetic fake teeth. They usually range from $600 to $3100 for each crown. Many people do not get crowns because most dental insurances will not cover the cost for the procedure to take place. So people are forced to take other routes when it comes to getting the cosmetic fake teeth that they need. However, crowns do have their advantages. They are able to make an infected tooth more stable, strong and durable. If you have the money to get them they are definitely worth the investment.

What are implants?

Implants are another form of cosmetic false teeth. People get them after they have had teeth extracted. The procedure consists of a fake root being put inside of your jaw. The good thing about this procedure is it does not require a crown like a dental bridge does nor does it require for the other teeth in your mouth to have alterations done to them. However, the bad thing about taking this route is it is less likely that your insurance will cover the procedure and this procedure can tend to cost more than the other cosmetic false teeth procedures.
